FUCK WHAT YOU THINK YOU KNOW
I am so frustrated with the propagated stereotype that Fraternities and Sororities are not a place for the LGBTQ community. As a proud “out” member of Theta Lambda Psi, Latina Sorority, my sisters have not only supported me but empowered me throughout my collegiate career. I have been told that my experience is atypical; frankly, I disagree. I urge all LGBTQ members of Greek organizations to actively start dispelling this myth. Feel free to accuse my Greek community of partying too much or having too much fun (although I still disagree), but don’t you dare accuse my Greek community or my organization of being discriminatory or shunning the LGBTQ community.
